Although our business model has undergone a transformation recently, our experience with horticulture and design extends back several decades. You may recognize Charlie Thigpen's name from the pages of Southern Living magazine where he enjoyed work for 30 years. He was Director of Landscape for the award-winning 27-acre Southern Progress campus, and as Garden Editor, he specialized in designing landscape makeovers and wrote articles about them for the magazine. As a Licensed Horticulturist and Landscape Designer, Charlie has a vast knowledge of plants, design and most importantly, how to maintain a garden and landscape.

Along with his wife and business partner, Cindy, they spent a decade bringing their expertise and ideas to life through their retail garden shop, Charlie Thigpen's Garden Gallery, in Birmingham, AL. The shop closed in late 2019 and they now focus on Landscape Design, offering consulting and landscape plans.

In every project, I carefully listen to my client's objectives and in conjunction, I consider the existing conditions of environment and climate and determine which plants will work best. This approach helps ensure that the new landscape will thrive and exceed expectations.

I am passionate about good design in the landscape. It must be pleasing yet functional, creative and unique. I lean toward the unconventional and always take the personality of the site and of the homeowner into consideration as I design.
